LA Voice Action is a grassroots, community-based organization that is poised to transform Los Angeles County to be more reflective of the true values of Los Angeles County voters. Our reach into Los Angeles communities is unprecedented, and our campaigns and messages are centered in the faith values of our sister organization, LA Voice.
In 2020, LAVA helped flip the Los Angeles County District Attorney seat by engaging over 200,000 low-propensity voters, including formerly incarcerated individuals and communities often overlooked in traditional outreach.
Using the same grassroots model, LAVA helped elect Holly Mitchell to the LA County Board of Supervisors—contributing to the first all-women board in the county’s history.
LAVA’s field campaigns center directly impacted individuals—training phone bankers with lived experience in the criminal justice system to share their stories and connect with voters.
Through over 106,000 voter contacts in 2020, LAVA helped pass Measure J—redirecting 10% of LA County’s unrestricted funding from law enforcement to community-based services.
LAVA’s organizing efforts contributed to major electoral victories, including the elections of George Gascón as District Attorney and Holly Mitchell to the Board of Supervisors.
Through a values-driven endorsement process, LAVA backed candidates across Los Angeles, including Karen Bass for Mayor and leaders across City Council, County, and State Assembly races.
